The Dream Means….

Last night or perhaps early this morning, I found myself amidst an amazing dream.  Although if I took the face value meaning, it meant nothing in comparison to the actual transformative meaning.  Ok, now that I have your attention and you are wondering what the heck I am talking about, here we go!  According to The Dream Book by Betty Bethards, dreams have many symbols.  For example, I dreamt about being in a forest, which according to this book means tremendous protection, growth, strength; entering the unconscious.  If lost in the forest, means you cannot see the forest for the trees; take charge of what is going on in your life.  There was also an exchange of money in this dream which when translated means big changes are coming.  There were many more objects and actions in this dream, but I just wanted to give you an example of some of the hidden meanings in our dreams.

One of the greatest things you can do for yourself is keep a dream journal.  Keep it along side of your bed and when you wake up, immediately write the dream down before the chance of daily influence clouds your memory.  A dream journal is us telling the subconscious that we are committed to expanding perceptions through dreams.  Recording the dreams also serves as a means of grounding the dream experience so that we can more fully actualize it.  No matter how scary or insignificant you believe your dream is, write it down.  It is our way of offering a “thank you” to your higher self.

There are many things that you can do to enhance your dream state. According to the Dream Alchemy book by Ted Andrews you can use different crystals to help you with your dream work.  For example, Onyx is a good general stone for increasing dream activity.  If used properly, in a single night it will stimulate multiple dreams, often with the same theme.  Amethyst is an excellent stone for transmuting consciousness while in the dream state.  It is good for bridging levels of consciousness.  Its violet color is a combination of red and blue, symbolizing the dualities of physical and spiritual, waking and sleeping.  It helps to balance and align our energies while asleep.

Don’t overlook your dreams, embrace them.  Quite often when we aren’t listening to the universe or our higher self while awake, we are being taught while asleep.  I hope some of the things I have shared have tweeked your interest in becoming more aware of your dream state.  Sweet dreams…….
